Scholarship Fund Process

How it works

For 2023, we have raised a modest scholarship fund that can be awarded to 1 to 2 BIPOC MBSR Teachers in Training. This works essentially as a discount on the tuition for programs that are offered by the Mindfulness Teacher Training Alliance, also listed on this site.

Please note that if the teacher training program is co-produced with another institution, such as the Omega Institute, then candidates are referred to the scholarship program of that institution. The MML Scholarship Fund is only applied to MBSR Teacher Training programs that do not have other sources of funding.

Step 1: Apply for an MBSR Teacher Training Program

If you meet the prerequisites, start by applying to an MBSR Teacher Training Program. This does not happen on this site, but by following the links directly advertised on the programs listed in question.

There are two types of programs, depending on where you are on your teacher training path: MBSR Essentials (Level 1) or Intensive Practice and Teaching (Level 2). More information about this can be found here.

Important: in your application notes, indicate that you will be applying for scholarship support from the MML BIPOC Scholarship Fund. Reminder: if the program you are applying to is co-produced with another organization, you may be directed to apply to a different scholarship program (ex. Omega Institute).

Step 2: Request a scholarship from the MML BIPOC Scholarship Fund

Your request for scholarship support will be processed during your application. There is no separate form to fill out. If your application is approved, your request will be considered based on remaining available funds.

Yes, it’s that simple!
